Zippy vs My Cat: Run & Escape — iOS and Android
1. Who we are
Zippy vs My Cat: Run & Escape ("the Game") is published by Srofia, an independent software studio. Srofia is responsible for the data described here. Contact: support@srofia.com.
This policy covers the Game on iOS and Android and the Game's pages on srofia.com (including challenge links).
2. What stays on your device
The Game does not have accounts and does not ask for your name, email, phone number, contacts, photos or location. The following is saved only on your device and never sent to us:
- Your progress: best scores, dust (the in-game currency), unlocked rooms, costumes and missions.
- Your cat's name and look (the "My Cat" feature). The name is never uploaded; it only leaves your phone if you choose to share a card that shows it (see section 6).
- Settings such as sound, music, vibration, language and your privacy choices.
- A local record of what you have bought, so the Game can unlock it.
Uninstalling the Game, or using Settings › Reset my data, deletes this data. Purchases of permanent items can be restored from the App Store or Google Play afterwards.
3. Advertising (Google AdMob)
The Game shows ads served by Google AdMob (Google LLC / Google Ireland Ltd.). Before any ad is requested:
- Consent (EEA, UK, Switzerland): Google's consent form (UMP, a certified consent management platform) asks whether you agree to personalised ads. You can change your choice later in Settings › Privacy › Privacy options (shown where it applies).
- iPhone and iPad: iOS asks whether the Game may track you (App Tracking Transparency). If you choose "Ask App Not to Track", the advertising identifier (IDFA) is not shared and ads are not personalised with it.
- US state privacy laws: where required, a choice to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of data for targeted ads is offered through the same Google tools.
When ads load, Google may collect your device's advertising identifier (IDFA on iOS, Advertising ID on Android) where permitted, IP address, device and app information, and ad interactions (views, clicks), to show and measure ads and prevent fraud. Google processes this data under its own policy: How Google uses information from apps that use its services and Google Privacy Policy.
Ads are currently served by Google AdMob only. If we add other ad networks through AdMob mediation, we will list them here before they serve ads in the Game.
You can also reset or limit your advertising identifier in your device settings (iOS: Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking; Android: Settings › Privacy › Ads, or Settings › Google › Ads).
4. Anonymous gameplay analytics (PostHog, EU)
To understand what is fun and what is too hard, the Game sends anonymous gameplay events to PostHog, hosted in the European Union (eu.i.posthog.com). Examples: a run started or ended, the room and score, a button such as "Share" or "Continue" was tapped, an ad or purchase screen was shown.
- Each event carries a random ID created on your device (not linked to your name, email or advertising ID), a session ID, the app version, platform (iOS/Android), language, and whether ads have been removed.
- No person profiles are created, and we do not send your advertising ID, your cat's name or any contact details.
- Like any internet request, PostHog receives your IP address when events are sent; it may be used to estimate your country. We do not use it to identify you.
- Events are only sent after the consent step has finished, and never from test builds.
- Turn it off: Settings › Privacy › Share anonymous usage data. Reset my data also replaces the random ID.
Legal basis (GDPR): our legitimate interest in keeping the Game working and improving it, with an easy opt-out. Analytics data is kept only as long as it is useful for improving the Game.
5. In-app purchases
Purchases (for example Remove Ads, My Cat, Unlimited or dust packs) are processed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play). We never receive your card details, name or billing address. The store tells the Game which item you bought so it can unlock it. Apple's and Google's privacy policies apply to the payment itself.
6. Sharing cards and challenge links
When you tap Share, the Game draws a picture card on your device (score, room, your robot, and possibly your cat's name) and opens your phone's share sheet. You choose where it goes; we do not receive the image. The shared text contains a link like srofia.com/zippyrobo/c?r=…&s=…&p=…, which only holds the room, a level seed and the score.
When someone opens that link, srofia.com shows the challenge and, if the Game is installed, opens it. Our website is served by Cloudflare and uses cookie-free Cloudflare Web Analytics for page counts.
7. Leaderboards (optional)
If you are signed in to Google Play Games (Android) or Game Center (iOS), your score can be posted to a leaderboard under your player profile there. That profile and leaderboard are run by Google or Apple under their own privacy policies; we only see the score and your public player name in their tools.
8. Who we share data with
We do not sell your data. Data goes only to the service providers named above: Google (ads, Play Games, Google Play), Apple (App Store, Game Center), PostHog (analytics) and Cloudflare (website hosting). Some of them may process data outside your country (for example in the United States) under safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses. We may disclose information if the law requires it.
9. Age
The Game is meant for players aged 13 and over and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child has used the Game in a way that sent us personal data, contact us and we will delete what we can.
10. Your choices and rights
- Ads consent: Settings › Privacy › Privacy options (EEA/UK/Switzerland), and the tracking setting on iOS.
- Analytics: Settings › Privacy › Share anonymous usage data.
- Delete everything on the device: Settings › Reset my data, or uninstall the Game.
- GDPR / UK GDPR / CCPA and similar laws: you may ask to access, delete or correct data, object to processing, or complain to your data protection authority. Because the Game has no accounts and the analytics ID is random, we usually cannot link data to you. Email us and we will help as far as we can.
11. Security
Data sent by the Game travels over encrypted connections (HTTPS). We keep what we collect to the minimum described here.
12. Changes
If the Game starts handling data differently, we will update this page and the date at the top before the change goes live. Important changes will also be mentioned in the app's release notes.
13. Contact
Questions or requests about privacy: support@srofia.com. We aim to reply within 7 business days.
