Whyworld — Terms of Use

Effective date: 1 October 2026

These terms are an agreement between you and Srofia ("we") for the Whyworld app. By using the app, you accept them. The Apple standard EULA also applies when you use the app on Apple devices.

1. The service

Whyworld shows what countries are talking about, with short summaries and the reason each topic is in the news ("why now").

Summaries are generated automatically by AI from public sources. They pass automated checks: every sentence is tied to a source, sensitive topics get a second AI check, and when confidence is low only headlines and links are shown. Even so, summaries can be incomplete, out of date or wrong.

Whyworld is for general information only. It is not news reporting by us, and it is not professional, financial, legal, medical or safety advice. Always check the linked original sources before relying on anything. You can report a topic with "Report", and repeatedly reported topics are hidden automatically.

2. Third-party content

Headlines, snippets and links belong to their publishers. We show short extracts with attribution and link to the original. If you are a rights holder and want something removed, contact support@srofia.com.

3. Free use, ads and Whyworld Plus

• Free version:
  • Includes a limited set of countries and shows ads.
  • You can watch an optional rewarded ad to unlock one country for 24 hours, once per day.
• Whyworld Plus is an auto-renewing subscription. Current prices are shown in the app before you buy.
  • Monthly: US$3.99 per month (or the local equivalent).
  • Yearly: US$29.99 per year (or the local equivalent), including a 7-day free trial if you are eligible.
  • Founding member offer: may be available as a limited yearly offer.
• Billing:
  • Payment is charged to your Apple ID or Google Play account when you confirm the purchase. If you take the trial, payment is charged when the trial ends.
  • The subscription renews automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the period ends.
  • Manage or cancel in your App Store or Google Play account settings. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
  • If you buy during a free trial, any unused part of the trial ends.
  • Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their policies.
• Restore: use "Restore purchases" in the app.

4. Acceptable use

Do not:

• copy, scrape or resell the app's content in bulk;
• interfere with the app or its servers;
• reverse-engineer the app except where the law allows;
• use the app against the law.

5. Changes and availability

We may change, add or remove countries, sources or features, and the service may be unavailable at times.

If we stop the paid service, you will not be charged for future periods.

6. Liability

The app is provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for decisions made based on summaries, or for indirect or consequential losses. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

Nothing in these terms limits rights you have as a consumer under the law of your country, or liability that cannot be limited by law.

7. Ending

You can stop using the app at any time. We may suspend access if these terms are seriously breached.

8. Law

• These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye. The courts of Istanbul, Türkiye, have jurisdiction.
• If you are a consumer: this does not take away the protection of the mandatory consumer laws of your country of residence, and you may also bring claims in the courts there.
