Is Premier Inn WiFi safe?
Free WiFi for every Premier Inn guest, with a paid “Ultimate” upgrade. Here is what Premier Inn publishes and how to check the network.
Usable for everyday browsing if you join “Premier Inn Free Wi-Fi” (or the paid “Premier Inn Ultimate Wi-Fi”). Like most hotel WiFi it is shared with other guests, so use HTTPS, check the network before banking, and be wary of any other Premier Inn-sounding name.

What the sign-in page should ask for
Premier Inn’s FAQ doesn’t describe the sign-in page in detail and says terms may differ by hotel. Because a paid upgrade exists, a payment page is not automatically fake, but the free network never needs a card. If unsure, ask reception which page you should see.
Rule of thumb for any public WiFi: a sign-in page may ask you to accept terms, register an email or watch an ad. It should never ask for a card number for free access, your email password or a bank login.
Lookalike networks
Premier Inn publishes Premier Inn Free Wi-Fi and Premier Inn Ultimate Wi-Fi. PremierInn_Guest or Premier Inn WiFi are not on its FAQ.
Copycat networks (“evil twins”) broadcast a trusted-looking name, sometimes with a stronger signal than the real one. CISA advises confirming the name of a public hotspot before you use it.
A 5-step check at Premier Inn
- Join exactly
Premier Inn Free Wi-FiorPremier Inn Ultimate Wi-Fi, not a similar name. - Complete the sign-in page and look at its address before typing anything.
- Use apps and sites over HTTPS. If a site you know suddenly shows a certificate warning, stop.
- Keep banking and work logins for a network you have checked, or use mobile data.
- Turn off Auto-Join for this network when you leave, so your phone doesn’t silently rejoin a lookalike later.
